Buson
Yosa Buson (1716–1784) was a preeminent Japanese painter and poet of the Edo period, ranked alongside Matsuo Bashō and Kobayashi Issa as one of the great haiku masters. Known for his painterly, vivid, and often romantic haiku, he blended visual art with poetry, creating haiga (paintings with haiku). He settled in Kyoto, where he became a celebrated artist and leader in the poetic community.
