Tong-Gyu Hwang is recognized as one of the most important poets in contemporary South Korea. This volume draws work from three of his recent books and includes a number of his Wind Burial poems that haven't appeared in English previously.

Kim Seong-Kon, also known as Seong-Kon Kim, is a South Korean academic, literary critic, film critic, columnist, editor and writer. Currently, Kim is a professor emeritus at Seoul National University.
Dennis Maloney is a poet and translator. A number of volumes of his own poetry have been published including The Map Is Not the Territory: Poems & Translations and Just Enough, and Listening to Tao Yuan Ming. A bilingual German/English volume, Empty Cup was published in Germany in 2017. Recent collections include The Things I Notice Now and The Faces of Guan Yin. His poems have been translated into more than a dozen languages.
Hwang Tong-gyu was born in 1938 in Sukch’on, South P’yongan province, in what is now North Korea. Author of fourteen poetry collections and five prose books, he has received the Hyondae Award, Midang Award, and Ku Sang Award.
