Robert Manaster’s poetry has appeared in numerous journals including The Maine Review, Image, Birmingham Poetry Review, Puerto del Sol, and Rhino. His debut book of poetry, The Last Jew: Poems from an Interfaith Marriage, is forthcoming from Fernwood Press. His co-translation of the Iraqi-born, Israeli poet Ronny Someck’s The Milk Underground (White Pine Press) was awarded the Cliff Becker Book Prize in Translation. His poetry book reviews have appeared in The Rumpus, Colorado Review, and North American Review.
Hana Inbar is a native Israeli and the daughter of noted Israeli writer Yossl Birstein. She and her co-translator, Robert Manaster, have published translations in various journals including Virginia Quarterly Review, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Zoland Poetry, and The Dirty Goat. Their co-translation of Yossel’s flash fiction stories, And So Is the Bus, Jerusalem Stories appeared in 2016 with Dryad Press.
Ronny Someck was born in Baghdad in 1951 and came to Israel as a young child. His work has been translated into forty-one languages.
